Blast Furnace

Refractories are essential materials used in blast furnaces to withstand extreme temperatures, mechanical stress, and chemical corrosion. They protect the furnace shell and ensure efficient iron making by maintaining thermal insulation and structural integrity.

  1. Blast Furnace Linings : Primarily made of fireclay and high alumina bricks, often with specific grades for different zones (e.g., bosh, belly, stack).
  2. Blast Furnace Stoves: Utilize fireclay, high alumina, and silica refractories for checker bricks and other components
  3. Coke Oven Refractories: Silica and fireclay bricks are used in coke ovens to produce coke for the blast furnace.
  4. Blast Furnace Troughs and Runner Systems: Castables, especially low-cement and no-cement types, are used for lining troughs and runners to handle molten iron
